Every year firefighters across the world head up onto the roof of one of their fire station’s as demonstration of solidarity, awareness, and fundraising for the Muscular Dystrophy Community. Muscular Dystrophy is a group of over 150 Neuromuscular Diseases that range in severity. Through the efforts of many early detection, supports, equipment and breakthrough research have lead to better outcomes and more fulfilling lives for those affected.
Canadian Firefighters have been raising funds for MD for 71 years. This year the Edmonton Firefighters hope to raise $71k with the twist of starting the event with no camping gear. As we hit monetary milestones we will be awarded camping gear along the way. The goal being to recreate as best we can the sensation of MD by battling Edmonton’s harsh winter climate.
Members from the public are welcome to join us at Fire Station 2 to visit and donate. The event runs from February 18-20, 2026.
