On Saturday, June 19th a community-wide food drive will take place in Sherwood Park from
7:00AM until 11:00PM. There will be several drop off locations including the Community
Centre Parkade on Festival Way and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Brower Drive.
The food drive is being coordinated by the Elks, Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus and
ACT/UCT (The Order of United Commercial Travelers of America) who are sponsored by
Christenson Developments. Various sports teams are also participating. The following
list indicates those items most needed at the Strathcona Food Bank:
- Canned chili or stew
- Canned ham, chicken or spam
- Canned salmon
- Canned mushrooms
- Pancake mix
- Pancake syrup
- Broth, 1 litre size
- Fruit cocktail
- Cookies
- Condiments (e.g. mustard, relish, ketchup)
- Kidney beans
- Side Kicks
- Flour
- Sugar
- Stove Top Stuffing
- Tea – regular, black
- Tampons
- Hand soap
- Safety razors
- Paper towels
