OILERS MEGA 50/50

OILERS MEGA 50/50 FOR ALBERTA’S FIRST RESPONDERS
IN SUPPORT OF WOUNDED WARRIORS CANADA AND OPERATION FRONTLINE IMPACT

March 7, 2023 (Edmonton, Alberta) – Wounded Warriors Canada, Operation Frontline Impact and the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) are calling on all Albertans to rally together in support of our province’s frontline first responders through the Oilers Mega 50/50. The current multi-day raffle runs until 11:00 PM on Thursday, March 16—with the jackpot building over each day to another life-changing total.

This Mega 50/50 is in support of Alberta’s first responders and healthcare professionals including paramedics, firefighters, police officers, nurses and their families through Wounded Warriors Canada and Operation Frontline Impact.

“We are ever grateful to our fellow Albertans who risk their lives to keep our families safe,” said Corey Smith, Board Chair of the EOCF. “Being a first responder can be extremely challenging and Wounded Warriors and Operation Frontline Impact help ensure their families have the support they need to manage the immense physical and mental toll that comes with being first on the scene or losing a family member. Let’s rally together once again through the Oilers 50/50 to care for the people that take care of us every day.”

Wounded Warriors Canada offers a variety of programs to support the unique needs of Alberta’s first responders and their families.

Often overlooked are the children exposed to the secondary effects of trauma as a result of living with a first responder parent struggling with an operational stress injury such as PTSD,” said Scott Maxwell, Executive Director of Wounded Warriors Canada. “Our Warrior Kids Camp and Virtual programs are made possible through partnerships and we are extremely proud to again partner with the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation on this important Multi-Day 50/50.”

Operation Frontline Impact is made up of 39 hospital foundations across Alberta and was created to address the emergent needs of hospital staff.

“We extend our deepest thanks to the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation for once again supporting Operation Frontline Impact through their game day 50/50,” said Morrel Wax, Vice President of Fund Development at the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation. “From all 39 of our foundations, and of course the many frontline workers across Alberta who shall benefit from the EOCF’s generosity, thank you for your ongoing support—it is truly inspirational, and we could not be more grateful.”

50/50 tickets can be purchased at edmontonoilers.com/5050.

In addition to the massive jackpot, there are a number of early bird prizes up for grabs, including premium concert and Oilers tickets, 100,000 Aeroplan points, SkipTheDishes and Safeway gift cards, and round-trip tickets to Edmonton International Airport’s brand-new, non-stop destination – Minneapolis, Minnesota.
