No official date has been set for the regimental funerals for the fallen Edmonton police officers who died in the line of duty Thursday, despite the premier’s musings.
Premier Danielle Smith announced Saturday morning on 630 CHED’s Your Province, Your Premier that the regimental funerals for Const. Travis Jordan and Const. Brett Ryan would be held March 26. However, the Edmonton Police Service said the announcement of the date is “premature.”
The premier later took back her commented in a tweet, saying the public should wait for the official EPS announcement.
This morning I shared information on the regimental funerals for Constables Brett Ryan and Travis Jordan. The details of the funerals are not fully confirmed and finalized at the moment. I would ask that the public wait for the @edmontonpolice to provide the date and full details…

The two young officers were shot while responding to a domestic dispute call Thursday.
The Edmonton Police Foundation has also started a GoFundMe memorial fundraiser for the families, which, as of Saturday afternoon, almost reached it’s $250,000 goal.
