5 Foot 9 is Tyler’s first solo Billboard Country Airplay #1. He had 16 #1’s with Brian Kelley as the duo Florida Georgia Line.

Hubbard makes history as the first artist to hit #1 on the Country Airplay chart as a solo artist and part of a duo/group.

“To have my solo single go #1 is really special and I’m thankful to country radio, the fans and everyone who has supported me and made this possible.”

Hubbard co-wrote 5 Foot 9 with Chase McGill and Jaren Johnston.

5 Foot 9 was written about Tyler’s wife, Hayley, even though he didn’t get her height precisely right.

“I’ve got to be honest. I have a confession. I missed it by an inch. She’s actually 5 foot 10 inches. I went home at night and said, Babe, remind me again how tall you are exactly. You’re about 5 foot 9? She said 5 foot 10 inches. And I said, Well, here’s a new song I wrote today. I’m sorry I cut you short by an inch, but I hope you like it.”

5 Foot 9 is from his self-titled debut solo album, dropping on January 27, 2023. Tyler co-wrote all 18 tracks on the LP.

Tyler performed 5 Foot 9, Way Home and Dancin’ In The Country, his next radio single.

Backstage at the Grand Ole Opry, Tyler received a Gold certification plaque for 5 Foot 9.

“Stepping into the circle to perform on stage at the Grand Ole Opry is such an incredible honor. Being at the Opry with family and friends and getting to celebrate 5 Foot 9 being certified gold is a moment I’ll never forget.”

The halftime show will feature Tyler Hubbard, Jordan Davis and Canadian Josh Ross.

“Getting to sing about the good stuff in life and where I’m at right now, and looking around and seeing my wife, but also my kids and my family. The life that we’re living right now, we’re really in a sweet spot, and I’m reminded where that comes from. It reminds me to appreciate the little things in life and things that we, myself especially, maybe take for granted at times. I’m hoping this song will do that for the fans.”

“I’m so excited to be releasing an acoustic version of 5 Foot 9. I’m humbled by the response we’ve seen from fans over the past few months. Hearing crowds singing the words back to me on tour has been an incredible experience. For this acoustic version, we started from scratch and really broke down the instrumentation and tempo to give it a different feel. We ended up with an interpretation that we hope brings a new emotion to the song.”
