The song was inspired by Barrett’s husband, Cade Foehner and was intended to highlight positive relationships, in contrast to the type of story told in her first #1 song, I Hope.

“The story with The Good Ones is I found myself a good one! People would always come up and ask me Oh, how’s your boyfriend? How’s this one? and I’d be Oh, he’s a good one. He’s a keeper. So, I wanted to write a song, and kind of saying that he’s a good one, and it’s about him.”

The Good Ones is from Gabby’s debut LP Goldmine, released on June 19, 2020, through Warner Music Nashville.

“When it was coming to naming the album, it’s funny cause one of the tracks on the album is called Goldmine and I had thought, Goldmine, hmm. Then, when I started to think about it more, I thought about all the people that worked in goldmines and it’s very hard work. I know it sounds cliché, but I feel like I’ve dug for these songs and struck my own little goldmine.”

Congratulations, Gabby Barrett, the ACM New Female Artist of the Year for 2021.

Gabby Barrett showcased her sweet voice at the 2021 ACM Awards in Nashville, April 18, 2021.
She delivered an emotional rendition of her current #1, The Good Ones. Live from the Bluebird Cafe with husband Cade Foehner backing her on guitar.

“I’m so grateful for my husband, who truly is a good one and inspired this song. Thank you to my family and fans for supporting me, my label and team for helping take my second single to the top and country radio for playing it.”

Gabby Barrett is joining Thomas Rhett’s Center Point Road tour with Cole Swindell.

“Three things I need to have on the road are chapstick, water, and my breast pump.”
