Jason Aldean Got What I Got #1 on ACC with Kix Brooks

Kix Brooks and ACC are on CISN Country 103.9 Edmonton and Country 105 Calgary Saturday 8am-Noon.

Jason Aldean’s Got What I Got is #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, followed by American Country Countdown.

Got What I Got was written by Thomas Archer, Alex Palmer and Michael Tyler; it’s the second single from Aldean’s 9th LP, titled 9.

“The one thing I’ve always tried to pay attention to is just what the songs are saying. And I feel like that’s what makes it work, is if it’s something that I can relate to or something that’s authentic. If I don’t do those kind of songs that are kind of true to me and who I am. I just feel like people can see through that, It’s just not believable to me.”

Got What I Got is Jason’s 24th career and 22nd Billboard Country Airplay #1.

22 Country Airplay #1’s gives Jason the 7th most in the chart’s history, which began in January 1990. Kenny Chesney leads with 31, followed by Tim McGraw 29, Blake Shelton 27, Alan Jackson 26, George Strait 26 and Luke Bryan 23.

“Country radio has always given us the chance to bend the rules a little, and that has always meant a lot to me. It’s especially cool for them to have my back right now while we can’t be out on the road getting fans music that way. We are missing it bad and can’t wait to get back on stage.”

The music video for Got What I Got was filmed during quarantine at Aldean’s family’s beach house in Destin, Florida, and features footage of the singer and his wife, Brittany, along with their two kids, Memphis and Navy, and Aldean’s two older daughters, Keeley and Kendyl.

Jason Aldean is currently in the studio working on his 10th album.
