Maren Morris’ The Bones two weeks #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart followed by ACC.
The Bones was #1 in Canada for two weeks on the Canada Country National Airplay Billboard chart.
Maren Morris is the first female country artist to spend multiple weeks at #1 since Carrie Underwood’s Blown Away in 2012.
The Bones is from Maren’s LP Girl. She co-wrote The Bones with Jimmy Robbins and Laura Veltz.
“We released The Bones a year ago as a promotional track before the album, not thinking it would be the second single. The fans have spoken on this one. It’s a real, gritty love song that I wrote years ago with Jimmy Robbins and Laura Veltz sharing co-write credits. I couldn’t be more proud that it’s become one of the biggest songs of my career to date.”
“A lot of love songs to me can feel so earnest, and I just can’t relate to them. With The Bones it felt like we were writing something about a real relationship that goes through these trials, and isn’t perfect every day. It isn’t preaching to anyone. It’s just saying, You and me, we’re going to be in the trenches together, no matter what.”
The video for The Bones was directed by Alex Ferrari and shows footage of Maren while on vacation in Maui, Hawaii with her husband, Ryan Hurd, all shot on vintage Super 8 film.
To Hell & Back will be the follow up single to The Bones for Maren Morris.
Maren Morris and husband Ryan Hurd are set to welcome their first child within weeks. Maren has never revealed her specific due date but did say their son was arriving only a few weeks after her final performance at the Houston Rodeo on March 7th.
“One food thing that’s been tough to enjoy that I’ve kind of stayed away from during pregnancy has been any sort of seafood. I used to love salmon and any sort of fish dish, and recently I just can’t smell it without getting sick.”
Maren plans to take two months before she gets back on the road for her first performance, which is scheduled for the BottleRock Napa Valley festival on May 24th in Napa Valley California.
“I don’t want to take a year off. I don’t want to, like, be away from my fans for that long. I’m still, at my core, a workhorse, and I love performing. I love being onstage, and I love to sing, so my turnaround after I deliver is pretty short. It’s only two months and I have another gig, but mentally and emotionally and I could change after I have my baby but I think that it’ll be good for me to have an endpoint because if it’s just open-ended, I’m gonna be, like, having cabin fever, going stir-crazy in the house, like, taking care of this kid, It’s kind of nice to have a goal to be like, Okay, I have two months, to not put pressure on myself but to get it back together, bring him on the road with me ’cause that’s gonna be the reality. He’s gonna be a tour bus baby, so it makes me feel like I can do motherhood and my career and not have to compartmentalize them.”
Maren Morris walked down Sesame Street to celebrate their 50th season on the air. Maren’s episode was called Let’s Draw. She performed a special song called Oops! Whoops! Wait, A Ha! to encourage young viewers not to give up when the going seems tough.
