Three weeks at #1 for Blanco Brown on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
Luke Combs This One’s For You 43 weeks #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

Just one LP has spent more time at #1 Shania Twain’s Come on Over, which reigned for 50 weeks beginning in November 1997.
“Don’t forget to celebrate. When I was first coming up, everything was so serious we were always rushing to get to the next thing that we didn’t take the time to say, Man look what we did just now.”
“There’s no real high like finishing a new song, playing it a thousand times in your car, and freaking out with your co-writers.”
“The story behind my single Girl started as something I was saying to another woman, like we don’t need to be competitive with each other.” “And then I kind of realized that I was talking to myself, like I don’t need to be so competitive with myself, I am enough. And it just became a really powerful concept after that point.”
Maren is the first solo female to top the Billboard Country Airplay chart since February 2018 when Kelsea Ballerini hit #1 with Legends.
“I am so proud that Girl is my third Billboard #1. The title of the song alone feels like poetic justice breaking this year-and-a-half streak of a woman not having a #1 on Country Airplay, so let’s be hopeful we never see that dry spell again.”
“I love listening to the radio because there’s something about that discovery, that platform, still being the main medium. And it is changing with streaming services, but I like to listen to what people are listening to and figure out why is this song so catchy.”
“It was a risk.” “Every sophomore album from an artist is terrifying. It’s like the sophomore slump are you gonna bomb and totally lose people? And putting Girl out, it just summed up the whole record; I mean, that’s why I named it Girl. But I didn’t think it was even gonna crack the top 10.”
The video for Girl was directed by Dave Meyers.
“I just felt so lucky to get to work with him on this song because I knew he’d bring it to life. Luckily we’ve really had time to really fine-tune the treatment and make it accessible for not just right now, but years to come. We didn’t want to timestamp it with a really specific historical thing.”
“When it came time to talk about doing the music video for my single Girl, it was the biggest video budget that Sony Nashville had seen.” “I remember thinking, If they’re not going to cover the entire cost, I really believe in this treatment. I believe in this director. I believe in myself and, if there’s anything that they don’t put in, I will cover the rest of the balance.”
“This was the first time I’ve ever put my own money down and signed a check to pay for my own music video, even though it was the lesser amount compared to what the label put in.” “I still felt like it was a risk, but I’m hoping it pays off. I think I’m at that point in my career where I can invest in myself financially. If you want to have your creative vision purely recognized, sometimes you just have to sign the check yourself. You end up footing the bill because you don’t want any part of your vision watered down or discounted by financial restrictions.”
In June Maren was on the cover of Women’s Health magazine.
“I’ve been trying to be better at exercising the past year or two. I don’t want to be skinny. I want to be strong and feel like Lara Croft. I remember when choosing Girl’s cover, I was like, Yeah I have this body; I’m going to put it on the cover!”
Maren Morris is currently touring in Canada. Aug 2 in Merritt Rockin River Music Fest. Aug 3 Lake Cowichan Sunfest Country Festival. Aug 9 Oro-medonte Boots and Hearts Music Festival.
