Eli Young Band's Love Ain't #1 on ACC with Kix Brooks

Kix Brooks and American Country Countdown are on CISN Country 103.9 Edmonton and Country 105 Calgary 8am-Noon Saturday mornings.

Eli Young Band’s 4th #1 Love Ain’t tops the Billboard Country Airplay chart followed by American Country Countdown.

Love Ain’t was written by Ross Copperman, Ashley Gorley and Shane McAnally.

This is EYB’s first #1 in nearly 6 years. Drunk Last Night was #1 back in December 2013.

EYB’s other #1’s were Crazy Girl-November 2011 and Even If It Breaks Your Heart-July 2012.

Mike Eli and James Young met at the University of North Texas where they became dorm roommates their freshman year.

They played guitar and eventually began writing and singing songs together; they formed the acoustic duo, Eli & Young, while attending the University of North Texas.

Chris Thompson and Jon Jones joined them later on and they became the Eli Young Band.

For the song’s music video Eli Young Band partnered with the Wounded Warrior Project. A non-profit that supports veterans and active-duty servicemen with pressing needs.

Featured was veteran Taylor Morris who became a quadruple amputee after an explosion in Afghanistan, along with his wife Danielle.

“There is such a special thing with this couple” Mike Eli tells Billboard. “Their story doesn’t need a music video or a song. It’s one of those things where, when you hear the story and see their videos, you are so moved by it right away.”

God’s Country from Blake Shelton is #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Luke Combs This One’s For You is #1 on the Billboard Top Country LP’s chart.

Beautiful Crazy #1 on the Billboard Country Streaming Songs chart for a 13th week.

Beer Never Broke My Heart #1 on the Billboard Country Digital Song Sales chart for a 2nd week.

This week in Billboard Country music #1 song history.

Rascal Flatts Mayberry #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in 2004. It was the Flatts second #1 song.

Miranda Lambert’s Over You #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in 2012.

Over You was written by Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton about a personal experience Shelton had as a teenager when his older brother was killed in a car accident.

Florida Georgia Line’s H.O.L.Y #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in 2016. Their 6th Hot Country Songs #1.
