“Two weeks before I proposed, we wrote This Is It’ as a love song for Gabi,” McCreery tells Billboard. “It’s our story. If the song existed solely for she and I, that would be completely fine with me. But to have our story on the radio and then reach #1 on the Billboard chart just makes my heart sing. Gabi is my world, she inspires me every day, and I think people can feel the realness of our love story when they listen to the song and watch the video. The fact that so many couples are now using This in their own weddings gives me chills.”
The video for This Is It was directed by Jeff Ray. It features footage from Scotty and Gabi’s wedding. To date it’s been viewed over 34 million times on YouTube.
“She’s incredible and we make a great team, and to be able to go through life together is one of my biggest joys. She always sees the best in people so it rubs off on me when I’m having a down day. Just going home to her perks me up a little.” Scotty on married life with Gabi.
“They did a great job with capturing all the emotion,” Scotty said. “I hope fans see how fun of a wedding it was. The music video is very documentary-style. There are moments when you see me all emotional, and Gabi smiling and showing all 32 of her teeth.”
At the beginning of 2019 Scotty and Gabi added a dog to their family. Meet Moose McCreery, Gabi picked out the yellow lab and his name.
Scotty McCreery’s Dad Michael grew up in New England. So that explains why his North Carolina born son Scotty is a Patriots and Red Sox fan. Both father and son enjoyed the recent Patriots 6th Super Bowl win. Scotty sang the US national anthem prior to the Patriots and Chiefs 2016 AFC playoff game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough Massachusetts.
Doesn’t look like Scotty and family are Boston Bruins fans.
