Florida Georgia Line’s Simple is #1 on ACC with Kix Brooks. CISN Country 103.9 in Edmonton and Country 105 in Calgary have American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks on the air every Saturday morning 8am-Noon.
Florida Georgia Line is duo Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley. FGL was formed in 2010 in Nashville Tennessee and began as a cover band. Both Tyler and Brian first gained interest in music through church worship services.
Hubbard and Kelley met at Belmont University in 2008 through a campus worship group, and following graduation, decided to give themselves two years to succeed as a country duo. They moved in with one another and began several odd jobs to pay bills, while playing clubs on the weekends.
Simple is FGL’s 16th career #1 song written by Tyler Hubbard, Brian Kelley, Michael Hardy and Mark Holman.
“We love to write tunes that make us feel good,” shares Kelley. “It’s a complicated world out there and this just reminds us to keep making time to enjoy the simple things.”
Hubbard adds, “Both BK and I are blessed to each have wives that make every day feel like paradise, as the lyrics say, so we’re living and loving its message daily. Thank you to our fans and Country radio for embracing our next chapter.”
Directed by Justin Clough, the music video features a grandfather recalling a romantic story to his grandchildren.
Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line’s Meant to Be extends its record run to 44 weeks at #1 on Billboard’s airplay, streaming and sales-based Hot Country Songs chart dated October 6th 2018. With its continued domination, FGL becomes the first act to top the chart for 100 cumulative career weeks.
“We set out to write good songs, so to see them travel far beyond our reach is still hard to wrap our heads around,” FGL’s Brian Kelley shares with Billboard. “We are so thankful to Country radio, our fans and our team for believing in even our wildest dreams.”

October 9th 2018 Florida Georgia Line picked up an American Music Award for Favorite Duo/Group of the year.
FGL is nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year, Single of the Year and Musical Event of the Year at the 2018 CMA Awards. Hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood November 14th in Nashville.
Florida Georgia Line have a busy fall ahead of them, as they are prepping for the opening of their Las Vegas residency this December. FGL five-nights-only residency inside Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino with Canaan Smith and Mason Ramsey.
