A 39-year-old woman was found dead after a house exploded near Cooking Lake, Alta. on Sunday.
Just after 2 p.m., Strathcona County Emergency Services responded to the home near Range Road 224 between Township Roads 512 and 514, in the Paso Valley Estates subdivision.
The home was destroyed in the blast. Crews had to conduct a technical rescue to get the deceased woman out of the debris, said Tim Moen, the deputy chief of Strathcona County Emergency Services.

A 60-year-old man was taken to hospital in Edmonton with burns and a concussion. A dog was also rescued and was taken to an emergency vet.
Moen said it appears the house was heated with propane. The remains of a roof was all that could be seen from the road in front of the yard on Sunday evening.
In an update Sunday evening, RCMP said the house and area have been secured and made safe and potential witnesses are being interviewed.
Mounties and the Strathcona County Fire Department continue to investigate the cause of the blast.
The rural home is located about 15 kilometres southeast of Edmonton.
