Heather Locklear reportedly undergoing psychiatric evaluation

Actress Heather Locklear is reportedly undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.

She was hospitalized Sunday in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Capt. Garo Kuredjian of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that both the sheriff’s office and fire department responded to a call of a “medical emergency” at around 3:50 p.m. on Sunday at the 4900 block of Summit View Drive.

Kuredjian said that the person was not injured but the individual was transferred to a hospital for further treatment.

Police could not disclose the identity of the person, but E! News confirmed the address belongs to Locklear.

According to TMZ, which first broke the story, Locklear’s mother called 911, claiming the 56-year-old actress was acting erratically and threatening self-harm.

According to the dispatch audio, obtained by TMZ, the operator reported an “agitated and violent” Locklear had been “trying to hurt herself,” but ” did not have access to any weapons.”

While Kuredjian could not confirm if the caller was a family member, he did say that it was not the patient who made the phone call.

Police told Us that there was no crime committed at Locklear’s home, “only a medical issue.”

Authorities described Locklear as “violent” and “suicidal,” according to People.

As of now, the incident is being ruled as medical and Locklear is currently not being charged on any counts.

This comes four months after the Melrose Place star was arrested for domestic assault and battery on an officer after attacking police who came to her home on a domestic disturbance call following a dispute with her boyfriend, Chris Heisser.

The actress was charged with four counts of battery on a police officer and one count of resisting arrest after allegedly threatening responding deputies after becoming combative with responding officers.

“She was kicking at and pushing our deputies,” Kuredjian told The Associated Press at the time.

Locklear pleaded not guilty to the charges in April but she was barred from owning or possessing a firearm.

This isn’t the first time Locklear has had a run-in with law enforcement. She was arrested in 2008 for suspicion of driving under the influence, and in 2012, she and her ex-fiancé, fellow actor Jack Wagner, were ordered to appear in court after they had an allegedly violent altercation. Neither wanted to press charges against the other and the case wasn’t pursued any further.
