Paul Brandt was on hand in Calgary yesterday to celebrate his induction into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame and officially hang his plaque on the wall.
"Getting an award at the National Music Centre is like winning a Stanley Cup." 2017 Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame inductee and hometown #Calgary boy #PaulBrandt (@imalbertabound) placed his name plaque onto the wall of #StudioBell tonight. After some moving speeches about the journey that got him to where he is today, Paul sat down with his wife, Liz, to sing some songs for the guests that came out to celebrate him. They had the audience singing along to the classics and then roaring with laughter at a new take on his latest song “All About Her”. Technically, yesterday was all about Paul, so his tongue in cheek version of “All About Me” brought down the house.
“Yeah, I’m the man of my dreams and this song is all about me.”
It was hilarious.
Another exciting piece of news unveiled yesterday was the location for the 2019 CCMA Awards. Paul, along with CCMA president, Tracy Martin, announced that the awards would be held in Calgary for 2019.
The 2018 CCMA Country Music Week will be held in Hamilton, Ontario with the awards show airing on September 9th. The show will be hosted by Shania Twain and it will feature performances from Keith Urban, Lindsay Ell, and High Valley.
