[WATCH] Tom Cochrane performs Big League in tribute to Humboldt Broncos

I heard Chris Jack and Matt play this song during their show today and I know Scotty shared a beautiful tribute video earlier this week dedicated to the Broncos with this song. Last night, Tom Cochrane performed “Big League” on TSN as a tribute to Humboldt and it is so powerful to watch.

“When he was a kid, he’d be up at five
Take shots till eight, make the thing drive
Out after school, back on ice
That was his life, he was gonna play in the big league
The big league

Not many ways out of this cold northern town
You work in the mill and get laid in the ground
If you’re gonna jump it will be with the game
Real fast and tough is the only clear lane to the big league”

If, for some reason, that video isn’t working, you can go here to watch.  If you find music is helping you get through these last couple days, you need to check out the beautiful tribute songs done by Ontario artist Jason Smith it’s called “Leave a stick out #HumboldtStrong”

Before you watch, make sure you have tissues nearby…after playing it on my show yesterday and today I got so many texts like this to 103939

“Oh my god. What a beautiful song…..thank you”

“I can’t stop crying.What a powerful song!”

“What an incredibly powerful song. I had to pull over because I couldn’t drive through my tears. My heart goes out to everyone that was touched by that terrible terrible tragedy”

“I’m sitting in my car in my driveway with tears streaming down my cheeks That song was perfect”
