[WATCH] Dying Firefighter fulfills final wish to sing "The Dance"

Marc Wright was a 25-year veteran of the Columbia, Missouri fire department who sadly lost his 3-year battle with Cancer just over a week ago. Before he passed away, Marc wanted to fulfill one last wish, to sing “The Dance” by Garth Brooks in a room filled with his closest family and friends. The video of that moment has gone viral, before you watch it, you might want to grab a tissue or two.

“I see how many people love this wonderful man makes my heart so full and I am so thankful. I have never met anyone who isn’t totally drawn to him. Love every past, present and future time we are blessed with” said his sister Michele.  Thanks to all the shares the video received on social media, Garth actually saw the video and responded.

“this guy gets it, everybody in the room gets it. They get the lyric of the song but the thing that really struck me most was this cat, this cats a good singer. So when you find a good voice for a good song, all the sudden it takes on its own voice. And I’ve never heard The Dance sung like this guys gonna sing it”

That video was posted on January 29th, which sadly was the same day the news was made public of Marc’s passing. My heart goes out to Marc’s family, friends and community.

“For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known you’d ever say goodbye
And now I’m glad I didn’t know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I’d have to miss the dance ”
